Bergen Orgelsommer - Bergen International Organ Festival - Øystein Steinsland in Nykirken
Øystein Steinsland plays in beautiful Nykirken.

Kyrie: Lord, have mercy. Many of the great composers have composed music over this small, but yet very important prayer of Christian liturgi. The Kyrie is the first sung prayer of the Mass ordinary and is usually part of any musical setting of the Mass. The idea of this program is to present a great variety of styles and tecniques in which this music occurs. Some of the compositions are meditative and calm, others are outwardly and complex. Most of the works in this concert are arrangement from orchestra and/or choir to the organ.
Øystein Steinsland *1973, from Modalen municipality on the west coast of Norway. Now working as organist in Øygarden municipality outside the city of Bergen. He got his organ education in Norway (Bergen, Oslo, Trondheim) but is most influenced from his organ solo studies abroad with David Sanger (England) He has also studied composition and arranging in Trondheim and music pedagogy in Bergen.
